Éxpo 3 Module 1 challenge – Ça t’intéresse?
This Module is all about TV, books and films.
Scenario:
You work for a media production company and need to promote / publicise either a TV programme or a film or a book which will be entered for an international competition at the European capital of Culture, Paris. Your presentation will be in French and will be judged by a panel of experts.
Challenge:
Individually, in pairs or in small groups create a product to show your learning about
- describing a TV programme, a film or a book
- expressing opinions and giving reasons
Product criteria:
1. Form criteria:
P informative – gives the audience important and accurate information
P easy to understand – audience can accurately interpret information
P product is supported by images which clarify information
P interesting – catches the eye by using colours, lettering, pictures, text etc.
2. Content criteria:
P must give information about ALL the following:
- title and type of TV programme / film / book
- protagonists (celebs, actors, characters…) and setting (where is it set and when?)
- what it is about (content, plot)
- your opinions / other people’s opinions (interviews?)
P contain accurate information
P ALL information in French (remember: text is what gives you most points!)
P take all information from reliable sources i.e. Éxpo 3 Module 1, your own workbook, you teacher’s PowerPoint presentations, your Wiki “French at Ryde High”
P contains images – clip arts, photographs, cutting from magazines etc.

P pupils select appropriate and relevant sources and use them to respond accurately to the challenge
P evidence shown of discussion through brainstorming
P careful observation and team-working will be shown in the quality of the work presented
P pupils will be able to identify the group’s successes and problems (peer-assessment)
Performance criteria:
P speaking with preparation
P each member of the group speaks with confidence
P the presentation flows naturally with appropriate French vocabulary
