Objectives:
To describe the area where you live
- say where you live
- locate it on the map
- say what type of place it is (opinions + pros & cons)
- say what there is / there isn't
- say what activities / sports people can do
Outcomes:
A text of about 90 words (it could be made up of different paragraphs that function as captions to pictures) first in a draft form (written in your exercise book) then reproduced in one of the following formats:
Ø a poster on paper
Ø a Glog* ( www.glogster.com/edu/ - see teacher for username & password )
Ø an electronic book (produced using www.toondoo.com)

Grade 4
I can write a short text on a familiar topic, adapting language which I have already learnt.
Grade 5
I can write a short text on a range of familiar topics, using simple sentences.
Grade 6
I can write a text, giving and seeking information and opinions, using a variety of structures (present. past, future)
On completing grade 6
You should be able to use and adapt learnt language relating to a range of predictable everyday matters. You should be able to write simple texts using descriptive language, with spelling that is generally accurate. You should be able to recognise the difference between past, present and future events and be familiar with simple forms of the verb tenses.
